I’m Jen
I want to help you cultivate your healthiest head of hair with the least amount of effort.
My name is Jen, and I am passionate about showing clients how easy their hair can truly be. I want you to love and enjoy the hair you already have instead of struggling to make it act like someone else’s. I can help you unlock your hairs potential through an informative, lighthearted salon experience where you will be met with non judgment, curiosity, and the education needed to succeed in your hair goals at home. My aim is to use all of the knowledge I have harnessed over two decades to give you a one of a kind, personalized experience that caters to your individual hair and lifestyle needs. Whether you want to simplify your curls, nurture your scalps health, or make a big change in style, I am confident in my ability to guide you through it.
I am hairdresser with a robust background in scalp health, and have dedicated the last 20 years of my career to the cutting, styling, and care of curly hair. Some of my areas of high-interest behind the chair are holistic scalp + hair health, curly hair 101 for newbies, plant based products, and non medical solutions for hair loss. I also love to talk about the wild world of trending styling techniques on TikTok, and how to avoid 15 step hair routines.
I am an avid collector of odd facts and (not really) useless knowledge, and you are bound to be on the receiving end of something you never knew you didn’t know. I really relish the nuggets of wisdom that I pick up randomly from each client, and I love to disperse them to others in a sort of information river.
When I’m not behind the chair, I’m a Northeast living, semi-crunchy parent to one human child, and two cat children. I love 90’s sci-fi rom-drams like Twin Peaks and the X-files, bike rides with the family, making ridiculously large messes in my kitchen, and speed dating hobbies.
Please note, I deal with Allergic Asthma. While I cannot predict all triggers, I greatly appreciate when clients avoid wearing perfume, scented fabric softener, and highly scented hair products to their appointments. These changes can help reduce my symptoms and chance of allergic reaction when working in close contact.
