Dry haircutting services are recommended for anyone who wears their hair in its natural curl 90% of the time or more. If you are someone who wears their curls in a twist out/braid out/rod set/stretched style, or other forms of manipulation for the majority of the time, I recommend getting a haircut on blown out/silk pressed hair for the best results.

Curls live in 3D, and wet hair is compressed into 2D. By cutting your hair as it lives in it’s dry state, I can create a shape that can perform for you consistently. Imagine being able to watch your hair being cut, and knowing exactly where the length and layers are from start to finish. It’s a wonderful thought, right? Some clients may want a wet cut or a razor cut, and thats great too! If you’re someone that struggles with your shape not feeling cohesive, or you’re tired of having cuts done on blown out hair and getting a surprise later, it might be time to give dry a try.

I will first consult with you to assess your hair based on its current health, length, and the desired shape you are seeking. Each curl will be cut individually to a length that not only complements the curl, but also the shape and style desired. I'll also make recommendations as to what types of products to use and suggest a care and cut routine suited to your needs. I will also teach you how to properly hydrate and style your hair. To get the most out of our first appointment together, please bring your blowdryer and diffuser if you have one, and I’Il show you how best to use it.

To give you the best haircut that works for you and your lifestyle, I need to see how your hair works for you currently. I ask all clients to arrive with their hair down and curly, styled with a light layer of whatever products they currently use.

In preparation for a curly haircut I ask that you please avoid tucking your hair behind your ears or using clips, ponytails, barrettes, brushes, braids, curling irons, or flat-irons on your hair as this will hinder my ability to asses your hairs natural curl pattern.

Wavy/Curly guests: do not come with slept on or day two hair; this is because your curl pattern may not be defined at the root and your ends will be flattened or elongated which can give a false idea of what your hair is like.

Tight Curly guests: Please come with your hair in a ‘wash and go’* that is less than three days old.
